The 7th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival is gearing up to be in full swing. The week begun with a 70’s themed skate party, followed by light programming, leading up to this weekend’s outdoors extravaganza!
The festival includes a range of multi-cultural entertainers performing a wide range of musical forms including those of Jazz, 8th Annual “Newark Idol” Youth Showcase, Gospel, House, Hip-Hop and sounds from the African Diaspora; health and sustainable market place, arts and craft vendors; local restaurants and food vendors, and organic farmer’s market products. For children the festival will offer games, storytelling, golf, basketball and skateboard clinics and a host of family oriented activities. The weekend will close with the 35th Anniversary of the Rock Steady Crew with a variety of musical and dance performances including break dancers, graffiti artists, and open- mic battles. Surprise guests entertainers will perform throughout the Festival.
The festival attracts over 50,000 visitors each year. The park fills up with Newarkers and Tri-state area music lovers enjoying delicious food and sounds. Check out this weekend’s line up below! The Glocally Team is excited to attend and report on the event. More to come…
