“Merry Christmas” Santa Greetings at the John Bukowski for animals

BY lyanne

Oddly enough, we were looking for the perfect santa of the season, and we found him with his helpers at the Bloomfield Animal Shelter, also known as the John A. Bukowski Shelter for Animals.  It  is located right off of exit 150 on the Garden State Parkway north. During the holidays the shelter offers pet owners to come to the shelter and take photos with santa in exchange for food and toy treat for the adoption animals.  The municipal shelter can serve as home to up to 22 dogs and 50 cats, and recently added two additions to tend to more animals.

a Terrier a little over a year, still as puppy looking for a home

There are several  images of dogs ready for adoption, dogs sizes range from small to large.  Pet adoptions cost $95 for dogs and $55 for cats. The shelter is clean and well maintained, they  accepts monetary donations via the Neighbor to Neighbor Network. Fill out an application at the shelter to help the 25 core volunteers in dog-walking and socializing.
