4) Party at Newark Symphony Hall on Saturday night with the sounds of Gracia Delva, Mass Kompa and Kreyol LA! The concert kicks off at 9:30 pm with Host Lavie and DJ OK. 1020 Broad St.

5) Relax on a Roof Top and host a Tar Beach BBQ! As we are in the CITY of Newark, many of us find that roof top access is pretty accessible and one of the best parts of summer. For those who can’t make it to beach this weekend, find yourself one made of tar… and get your BBQ on. Enjoy Newark!

That’s nice but looking a their website it should be noted that at the Newark Museum the main galleries are closed for installation of new exhibits which don’t open until Sept 12. Tours, planetarium and family programs are also on hiatus for the next week or two.

Aljira also has a new exhibit but it doesn’t open until Sept 6.
