Wow...what a year it has been for the 1 Washington Park office building here in Newark. Around this time last year, the office building opened its doors to the Rutgers Business School. The interior of the building where the school resides was beautiful and the school was outfitted with leather sofas and numerous LCD TVs. The clear glass entrance way and stock ticker were also nice addition to the building but yet, something was missing.

Around this time last month the talk of the town revolved around the New Jersey Nets and their pursuit of LeBron James and coveted draft pick John Wall. As has been the case for the Nets the past few years, things did not work out and the team was neither able to sign James nor draft Wall. With the exception of the signing of Derrick Favors, some could argue that the Nets haven't really improved all that much since the end of last season.

Heading into end of the first half of the season things appeared bleak for the Newark Bears. They had fallen into last place in the standings and there were some serious questions over whether or not the team would even finish out the remainder of the season. The second half has brought along many changes. One of which is that the Bears have a chance to ascend back to the top of the standings.
