An Organized Closet is Love

The first month of our new decade is drawing to a close. How’s that “get organized” resolution coming? We’re kicking some butt over here at Brick City Love.

A couple weeks ago I shared our closet plan and I’m back with the big reveal. Woot!

We decided to go with the free-standing Elfa system and I can honestly say it’s working great for us. {I haven’t received any compensation from The Container Store to say that either.}

When Rob & I went into The Container Store, we met with a very nice sales rep who put my Excel plan into their Elfa specific design software. It’s way better at designing these systems than Excel is and we realized my plan needed to be tweaked just a little. We also added a pant rack & extra drawer. {Spoiled, party of 1??} After a half hour or so, our order was placed. We came back after dinner to pick up our massive order and found everything incredibly organized {duh}, waiting for us to put it in our car. The system came with a multi-page instruction packet but the page I found most helpful was our closet elevation.

Then everything pretty much just snapped, locked, clicked, or otherwise attached into place.

An hour or so later, we were done!

And all of our clothes {& my purses and bags} had an assigned seat.

Plenty of room for bags galore!

Drawers keep socks, undershirts, jeans, sweaters & other unmentionables super handy for early morning getting ready.

An organized closet is a thing of beauty. And I can honestly say that it’s looked this good since we got everything hung up. The neatness is so easy to maintain now that everything has an assigned seat.

Before our little makeover, our poor closet was looking a little sad outfitted in moving boxes.

And now, we’re living it up in blissfully organized new digs -

Get organized, folks. It makes your life easier, simpler, less stressful, and way more awesome.

    You ever see those infomercials with the airtight vacuum bags or those hangars that hang like 30 shirts on one hook? Any thought on whether either is any good? I feel like those vacuum bags aren’t useful at all unless you never plan on wearing said clothes ever again…

    That is a wonderful entry. I really think it will work out to be a very crucial piece of information in the future for me.
