If there’s one thing that we’ve all noticed about Newark in the past couple of years it’s that the residents have become more involved in changing their community. Some do it by mentoring, some by dontaing money and others established non-profit organizations dedicated to urban revitalization. Enter Laurel Dumont Esq’s Center for Collaborative Change. This community based group of professionals aint your mama’s consulting firm. It’s all the braun and intellectual muscle of any big city for profit firm intricately paired with grassroots community engagement tactics all aimed at insuring that the change in Newark F.I.T.S. with the people of Newark. It’s a cool little acronym that allows the Center for Collaborative Change Find, Import, Tailor & Support best practices into Newark. You can read more about them here.
Like all non profits this org needs to raise some funds and spread its message. What better way to rasie money than with a great cocktail party at one of Newark’s best venues. On Wednesday, Sept. 30 you can join CFCC, Mayor Booker and the Nick Pablo Thang band at NJPAC’s Calcada restaurant & bar for a An Evening With the Center for Collaborative Change. Come dressed in your best cocktail party outfit and meet the staff, learn about its initiatives and enjoy open bar, hors D’oeuvres and mingle with the best folks Newark has to offer.
